J. Sigrid Barklund, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and micrographic dermatologic surgeon (Mohs surgeon) who joined Dermatology & Laser Associates of Medford, LLP in September 2020.
Dr. Barklund grew up in Southeast Idaho and attended The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN for her undergraduate studies. She graduated as valedictorian with a double major in chemistry and philosophy and subsequently moved to Southern California for graduate school at the California Institute of Technology. After obtaining her master’s degree studying atmospheric chemistry, she realized that she did not want to spend the rest of her life in a laboratory and decided to go to medical school. She earned her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2015 where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She then completed her internship at the Colorado Health Foundation and her dermatology residency at the University of Colorado, where she was selected Chief Resident. She completed her Mohs surgery fellowship at the University of Iowa in 2020.
Her clinical interests include skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstruction after skin cancer surgery, management of high risk skin cancers, and nail surgery, as well as general dermatology.
Dr. Barklund is an avid reader, hiker and knitter. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter and their dog Daisy.
