Microdermabrasion is an exfoliating, skin-revitalizing treatment that helps repair sun-damaged skin, scars, acne, hyperpigmentation, the effects of aging, and extracts blackheads and whiteheads. Our aestheticians use the advanced DiamondTome system to provide gentle abrasion in removing the dead, outer layer of skin, while vacuuming the dead skin cells away. Removing the outer layer of dead skin leaves skin with a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.
A chemical peel is a skin treatment in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin, causing the skin to exfoliate and peel off. This technique is used to improve the appearance of facial skin. Chemical peels are used to treat acne scars, aging skin, crow’s feet, hyperpigmentation, melasma, scars, sun damaged skin, sagging skin, and wrinkles. Our aestheticians use the Glytone professional line of chemical peels by ENERPEEL, including Salicylic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Jessner peels. This 20 minute treatment visibly improves the look and texture of skin.
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a skin-rejuvenating treatment where tiny needles are used to (painlessly) puncture the top layer of skin, inducing growth factors and stimulating new collagen and elastin. This procedure is used to treat acne scars, scars, stretch marks, uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of age. Our Advanced Aestheticians expertly use the Candela Exceed microneedling device to improve the skin’s tone and texture, leaving the complexion looking healthy and refreshed.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medication that is injected into facial muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet lines around the sides of the eyes. BOTOX® targets the underlying cause of frown lines and crow’s feet – the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting. Your dermatologist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will notice visible smoothing of these lines after treatment.
Juvederm Ultra XC is a dermal filler used to fill the moderate to severe lines and folds such as parenthesis, corner, and marionette lines that form around the nose and mouth. These lines are caused by the natural loss of skin elasticity, genetics, and environment factors like sun exposure. Juvederm Ultra XC can also be used to plump lips that have thinned over time or for patients that would like to have fuller lips. Juvederm Ultra XC provides natural-looking results that can last up to 1 year.
Juvederm VOLBELLA XC is a dermal filler used to add subtle volume to lips or soften the appearance of vertical lip lines. Vertical lip lines are often caused by factors such as sun exposure or repeated muscle movements. Juvederm VOLBELLA XC provides less noticeable vertical lip lines and subtle lip fullness that can last for up to 1 year.
The Restylane line of dermal fillers are gel fillers that are designed to act like the body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, which our bodies produce less of as we age. Loss of hyaluronic acid can cause parts of the face to lose shape and fullness, leading to lines, wrinkles, and a less youthful looking appearance. The Restylane line of products visibly reduce facial wrinkles and folds and add smooth definition to lips. Dermatology & Laser Associates of Medford, LLP, offers the following from the Restylane line of products.
- Restylane-L – used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.
- Restylane Silk – used to correct small vertical lines around the lips and provide subtle fullness to the lips.
- Restylane Lyft – used to correct the loss of collagen, thinning of underlying fat, and decreasing bone volume, which can lead to a reduction in cheek volume, giving a sunken appearance.
Kybella is an injectable treatment used to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fullness), also known as a “double chin.” Submental fullness can be caused by weight gain, genetics, and aging. Kybella permanently destroys the fat cells located in the treatment area, reducing the fullness under the chin. Kybella is administered over a series of treatment sessions.
Asclera is an injectable medication used in sclerotherapy, a procedure to treat spider veins, small varicose veins, and reticular veins. This sclerosing agent is injected into the vein by your dermatologist. It works by damaging the endothelium (the cells lining the inside of blood vessels). This damage causes the blood vessel to clot. Overtime, the clotted vein will be replaced with tissue, eliminating the visible vein. Spider, varicose, and reticular veins can be caused by heredity, age, gender, pregnancy, weight, and prolonged sitting or standing. Asclera may be administered in multiple sessions.
These new-generation hyaluronic acid fillers (RHA1-4 and Redensity) can be used to smooth and naturally soften everything from fine lines (such as around the eyes or lips) to deep wrinkles (such as the smile lines or marionette lines). They can be used to soften areas of volume loss, wrinkles, and scars. These fillers typically last 15 months or more, but can help to stimulate the body’s own production of more collagen and elastin for even longer-lasting results.
